New Frontier Immigration Law’s attorneys are committed to advocating for the rights of immigrants, both in the media, as well as to other attorneys. Just within the past month, both Hillary Walsh and Abogada Natalia attended Dallas’ Conference on Crimes Against Women, where Natalia spoke on T-Visas. In addition, Hillary was recently featured in Glamour Magazine, where she discussed how New Frontier is combating the trafficking of undocumented immigrants.

In her article, Walsh highlighted the firm’s success in representing over 4,000 immigrants navigating deportation and abuse to gain full legal status in the United States. Whether it be by arguing cases at the U.S. Supreme Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, or federal circuit courts, Walsh told Glamour she is dedicated to ensuring her clients have a clear legal path forward, uncomplicated by fear or threats to their futures.

Types of Cases New Frontier Immigration Law Takes On

Walsh further detailed that she is particularly focused on taking cases where immigrants are survivors of trafficking, spousal abuse, or domestic violence through T-visas and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) laws. T-visas offer legal status for human trafficking survivors if they cooperate with law enforcement’s investigations. Similarly, VAWA permits survivors to apply for legal residency separate from sponsorship from their abusive spouse.

Through legal avenues such as T-visas and VAWA, Walsh and New Frontier Immigration have been able to assist thousands of immigrants like Karla, whose U.S. citizen spouse threatened to deport her whenever they attempted to leave the marriage. With VAWA protection, Karla was able to obtain legal residency and finally leave her abuser.

Future Advocacy Work

While serious progress has been made for many of Walsh’s clients, the firm is not slowing down. As a constantly contested issue in the U.S., New Frontier Immigration recognizes that securing legal status is daunting. Recognizing that living in the U.S. without legal status can have major negative psychological effects, the firm has expanded their support through a nonprofit, the New Frontier Foundation, that works to provide critical mental health resources, therapy, and vital community support for undocumented immigrants throughout the country.

Whether through representation or non-profit work, Hillary Walsh and all our attorneys are devoted to shifting the public perception of undocumented immigrants to focus on how they contribute economically and culturally to this country.
