Okay so I want to tell you a story. My husband is a pilot, he’s an F-16 pilot in the U.S. Air Force. We are stationed here at the Lucas Airport here in Phoenix Arizona. And we have been stationed in places all over the world. I want to tell you a story about a time that we were on a commercial airplane. F-16s are mini fighter planes that have one seat for the regular airplane. We were in a huge Boeing that seats hundreds and hundreds of people. There were a lot of things going wrong on the flight and one of the people around us started asking ´´I wonder if there’s another pilot on board´´ and of course my husband is a pilot and he could probably fly a lot of airplanes but he did not speak up. He did not volunteer to take the life of someone else into his hands because he’s not capable or qualified to do that. And he certainly wasn’t going to jeopardize hundreds and hundreds of people’s lives.

The same is true in immigration law. When you talk to your friends or to your family member or to your neighbor and they give you advice it’s like if my husband had chosen to speak up and say yes I’m a pilot on board and let the flight attendant know that if anything was wrong he could help. Because he most certainly could, he knows a lot about flying airplanes; he’s been doing it for nearly 20 years. He doesn’t know how to fly a Boeing 7-37, he doesn’t know how to fly a commercial aircraft. And your friend and your neighbor are not immigration lawyers.
